Omar El Zoheiry is an Junior Researcher currently focusing on the political economy of debt in the Euro-Mediterranean. He holds a MSc degree in Comparative Politics (with honours) from the London School of Economics (LSE). His MSc specialism was designed to focus on incidents of political change and economic reconfiguration in the MENA from 1952 to today. He also holds a BA degree from Macalester College (MN, United States) in Political Science, International Studies, and Economics. Omar's academic record is distinguished by the six scholarships he earned between 2007 and 2013 for academic drive and ability. In addition to focusing on the MENA, Omar has also studied processes of political and economic transformation in Latin America (1970s-1980s) and the former Yugoslavia (1990s). Over the past 11 years, Omar has lived in Canada, the United States, the Netherlands, England, and the Mediterranean nations of Egypt and Spain. He is fluent in Arabic, English, and Spanish, and is looking to add Serbo-Croatian to the mix soon.
