Participation of EMEA to the 2018 MENA Think Tank Summit

The Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association will participate to the 2018 MENA Think Tank Summit “Think Tanks: A Bridge Over Troubled Waters and Turbulent Times” which will take place in Tunis from 03 to 05 October 2018. EMEA will be represented by Prof. Rym Ayadi, Founding President of the Association.

EMEA President, Prof. Ayadi will also chair the MENA Think Tank President´s Panel during the first day of the event. The specific panel is composed by a group of Chief Executive officers from across the Middle East and North Africa which will discuss the key policy issues confronting their countries, as well as and the organization challenges facing their respective think tanks. The discussion will focus on the key policy issues, strategies, plans and programs that each CEO have developed to meet both the challenges and opportunities presented by this new and complex environment in which all think tanks must operate.

The participants of the panel will be Amb. Ezzat El Sayed Saad, Executive Director, Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs, Musa Shteiwi, Director Center for Strategic Studies, University of Jordan, Ahmed Driss, President and Director, Centre des Etudes Méditerranéennes et Internationales (CEMI) Tunisia, Othmani Slim, President, Cercle d’Action et de Réflexion autour de l’Entreprise (CARE), Algeria, Adam Sieminski, President, King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center, Saudi Arabia.

Aimed at contributing to the changing realities in the Euro-Mediterranean region, the Euro Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA) brings together leading economists and high-level international and local experts to think for the future of the Euro-Mediterranean in a multi-polar world. It serves as a leading independent think tank and innovative research institution and forum for debate on the political and socio-economic reforms in the south and east Mediterranean with an opening door to Africa with the aim to promote sustainability, inclusiveness, and regional economic integration and prosperity. It will strive to contribute to the rethinking of the Euro-Mediterranean in view of the new dynamics of an emerging multi-polar world. EMEA is Non-for-Profit institution set up in October 2012 in Barcelona under Catalan Association Law.
